NEA Class of 2013
Attending: John Brown University
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Courtney Smith, a recipient of the NACME Pre-Engineering Scholarship has just finished her first semester at John Brown University and is already looking forward to the challenges of the new semester. “This first semester was absolutely amazing,” she says. “It was even better than I expected.” Courtney’s favorite part of the fall semester was being on the winning team in her engineering class’ design competition. The two freshmen engineering classes were challenged with designing something out of Legos. Her team won with a working model of the Batman spotlight. Next semester Courtney is looking forward to working on the team for the NASA Robotic Mining Competition (formerly known as the Lunabotics Mining Competition).
